Hi folks in much of my reading and practical understanding and expereince in embedding innovative practice into practical delievery there are three key things that are barriers and one key item that minimises this barrier. Money. Is it possible tor useful hat from a group perspective we explore all possible avenues for some funding options that could make 2009 the year of mini embedding progress across the ve -mentoring network or at the very least is there anyone out there who would like to look at collaborating and developing some cross Institute options maybe aligned to a vocational area, a lead Institute or not! Most funding application look for systemic support and cross organisational success. So let me know if you are interested or alternatively post your ideas about what sorts of projects might be of interest to you. My particular interest is in developing communities of practice for staff and innovative practice across a lead Institute model but open to all ideas so over to you....

" Hi Colleen, Your request for ideas on this theme would be most timely now as we see the new funding becoming available. I wonder if you've thought of contacting directly other institutes with like practices in other states . In this case I"m thinking of TAFEs here in Victoria who may be up for a collaboration on ementoring. If you'd like some contact names to approach, I can help you with that. Another idea that has just occurred to me is that you may wish to collaborate with other TAFEs who have started making use of the Innovate and Integrate tools and are now modelling mini-embedding practices. Look for the Case Study that is coming out soon on a TAFE in WA who used I&I processes - once again if you need any contact information, just let me know. CC

Hi Carole,
This live blogging looks very intriguing. I have now joined and will have to experiment. Can't wait to see you in action :-) so do let me know next time you plan to give it a go. I can see we wil have to develop strategies in delivery and consider when it will be say more useful/appropriate than a live virtual conference room. Glad to see you embedded it into Wet Paint as the site pushes blogging as the main location for embedding.
Cheers Viv

This experiment in live blogging whilst attending a live event in Elluminate, represents a new way of 'taking notes' and sharing with others. No longer will I need to write then transcribe then post somewhere - it's all done simultaneously. This one did not include any onlookers or commenters, so I thought it might be useful to enlist your comments here.

There are many innovators and leaders taking new paths into innovation - using wholistic organisational strategies. Are you one of these? What is your strategy? What tools do you use? What processes would you recommend?
Please reply to this thread or create a new one of your own, so we can gather the 'wisdom of the crowd'.

Thanks for your positive comments Viv!! You are welcome to use anything from the wiki that may be helpful. Id also like to share with you the following wiki, which is our overall elearning strategy wiki.... www.elearning.nciwiki.com.au. You will find here the foundations of the strategy, the change management behind the strategy and how it has all come together with the participation of many people!
In answer to your questions.....
1. It was open invitiation for both the WELCs (Campus focus) and the FELCs faculty focus). The main characteristic we were looking for in team members was passion and committment in teaching and learning. Faculty Managers chose their FELC while the WELCs were chosen by Organisational Improvement.. 2. There are incentives for team members and these vary. each WELC is allocated one hour per campus per week while the FELC hours are determined by the Faculty Manager and these vary from 2 hours to 10 hours per week.
This is the agreed upon scenario, by all parties for 2007 - 2008.
Team members have demonstrated amazing committment, skill and collaboration and I am pleased to announce they have won the NCI Directors Award for Collaboration 2007 and also the Directors Award for Excellence 2007.
Hope to talk with you soon Viv - Arabella :-)
