There are many innovators and leaders taking new paths into innovation - using wholistic organisational strategies. Are you one of these? What is your strategy? What tools do you use? What processes would you recommend?

Please reply to this thread or create a new one of your own, so we can gather the 'wisdom of the crowd'.

Hi Carol - yes I am one of those people using a wholistic organisational strategy! Our strategy is to embedd elearning effectively within our Institute and have created a new team for this purpose. Our Institute covers 850km so we need to have each Campus and Faculty represented - the team is made up of 22 staff (part time and full time) who make up our Learning Technologies Team. The LTT form part of the Strategy and you can find information regarding our activities at www.ltt.nciwiki.com.au. The tool we will be using as from 2008 will be our eLearning Kit website which brings together resources, technologies and teaching strategies. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi Arabella,
Your wiki front page looks fabulous! I loved and recognised many of the faces in the top header, which personalises the learning. The inflight movie was gorgeous for inspiring others to use technology :-). And most importantly I really like your use of local and faculty champions(WeLC's & FeLC's) ... I have been beavering away at a proposal and had this very strategy mapped out to get those connections across the institute and here you are already doing that!
I have some questions
1. How did you invite/engage your champions? Was it a mix of tapping on shoulders and Open invitation? Did faculty managers have input?
2. Are these champions allocated time/money/incentives and is it an ongoing commitment?

Thanks for the sharing Arabella :-)

Thanks for your positive comments Viv!! You are welcome to use anything from the wiki that may be helpful. Id also like to share with you the following wiki, which is our overall elearning strategy wiki.... www.elearning.nciwiki.com.au. You will find here the foundations of the strategy, the change management behind the strategy and how it has all come together with the participation of many people!

In answer to your questions.....

1. It was open invitiation for both the WELCs (Campus focus) and the FELCs faculty focus). The main characteristic we were looking for in team members was passion and committment in teaching and learning. Faculty Managers chose their FELC while the WELCs were chosen by Organisational Improvement..
2. There are incentives for team members and these vary. each WELC is allocated one hour per campus per week while the FELC hours are determined by the Faculty Manager and these vary from 2 hours to 10 hours per week.

This is the agreed upon scenario, by all parties for 2007 - 2008.

Team members have demonstrated amazing committment, skill and collaboration and I am pleased to announce they have won the NCI Directors Award for Collaboration 2007 and also the Directors Award for Excellence 2007.

Hope to talk with you soon Viv - Arabella :-)
